As we head towards the end of the year in 2015, it’s usually a good time to start looking at how your business was run and how you managed it. Did you do things the way you intended? Or did you find yourself deviating from the original plan quite significantly? Whatever you found, it pays to take the time needed to start looking into this and understanding where you need to go if you want to see things progress in 2016 and beyond. One thing that was true of 2015, though, was the fact that websites took on a whole new level of importance within the hierarchy. The main thing to remember here is that a website counts for so much more today than it did even 6-7 months ago. If you never had a website or don’t intend on setting one up then you are really missing out on the benefits it can bring to the table. Not sure why you might need a website? Then you should consider all of the following to see what you can do to change it up;
- A website helps you sell your reputation and in 2015 that’s more important than ever. If you are trying to promote yourself in the right light and be seen as one of the good guys then you do need to worry about your website and getting one put together quickly. Without the ability to promote yourself you are missing out one of the easiest opportunities to get hits
- Now people are looking at websites on the go and on mobile devices you are no longer hamstrung but having a website, in that people are checking them as they go to work and as they come home rather than having to be in front of the PC to find you. A failure to have a website is a failure to capture all those commuters who want to buy something or hire your services!
- Another big failure of not having a website in 2015 is that the social media aspect has exploded dramatically. This means that you need to start planning and preparing accordingly to deal with this as a failure to do so will mean missing out on so much goodwill. You need a website if you want to be useful on social media and to give a place where people can come and look at what you have to offer
- Likewise, a website is the place people can make sales from. Rather than having to come see you directly they can order it online and give you the help that you need in this manner instead, making it so much easier to handle as you move forward
So, now you can see why having a website is so important are you still going to neglect having one made up? If so, your business is really going to struggle moving forward! Make sure that you see the importance of having a website from a sales, social media and reputational side of things. At the very least, you need one because your rivals will!
